Banksy’s “kids on guns” was first spotted at Santa’s Ghetto in 2003 selling for approximately 450 pounds. The costs have gone up unrealistically currently thanks to auctioning centers, making him one more artist who has hit the big time in terms of the cost of his art. The full idea that art can be so pricey is indeed disturbing and that to a graffiti artist like Banksy whose handiwork deals with a meaning instead of being contemporary art. “Kids on guns” is a cute stencil picture of two youngsters standing together holding a heart shaped balloon and a cuddly toy bear. However as you progress closer you notice that the children are standing on a pile of guns. Stark realism indeed! War and peace forms the focal point of numerous the Banksy canvas pieces and this is no different. The entire plan of children being exposed to weapons at such a tender age will solely bring about one response in a human being. Shock and awe at the situation in the world. With that Banksy achieves his goal! This is not the only piece of art he manages to do this with, look out for the likes of the ‘Kissing Coppers’, ‘Banksy balloon Girl‘ and ‘Stop and Search’ every single one of which carry a message regarding the sign of the times we live in.

If you are interested in beeswax candle making, there are a few things that are going to be important for you to know.Prayer candles or votive candle making still is a most popular business today. A votive candle or prayer candle in principal is a small, typically white or beeswax yellow candle, originally intended to be burnt as a votive offering in a religious ceremony.Once you have all your supplies, the first thing you want to do is roll the candle. You can either roll it flush with the top of the candle or you can roll it higher than the top of the candle. Now you will need to cut the beeswax to have it ready to make beeswax candles.
To actually roll the candle is perhaps the most important step in the process of beeswax candle making. You do not want to have a taper on the candle but rather have it even all the way around. This may take a few times but the more you practice the easier you will find it to be. Then you just add on the second sheet to add stability and help give the candle a longer life.Electricity has now prevented many burning dangers from light by candlelight yet the art of candle making has progressed. The ambiance of votive candles still sets the environment of purity and belief for religious and votive ceremonies.

Traditionally a candle maker is known as a chandler. Earlier days candles had been made with animal fat, or tallow. The major disadvantage of using tallow was that it generated a lot of smoke as it burned. Tallow-lit rooms were smoky rooms.Later days candle making meant dealing with beeswax. Beeswax was secreted by bees as they built their honeycombs. With beeswax candles, rooms could be brightly lit without being filled with smoke.Once you have all your supplies, the first thing you want to do is roll the candle. You can either roll it flush with the top of the candle or you can roll it higher than the top of the candle. Now you will need to cut the beeswax to have it ready to make beeswax candles.

Banksy is probably the most famous yet the most mysterious graffiti artist this world has seen. Some consider him a prankster whereas others, an artistic genius. One thing that everyone agrees on is that his popularity cannot be denied. His work includes images and slogans which are usually satirical in nature. His subjects include both animals and human beings and theme of his work varies from politics, to ethics, to culture. His work has been sold for more than half a million apiece and some of his fans include Hollywood celebrities.
He is considered by many as the world’s foremost art terrorist. Recently this notorious graffiti artist had set his artistic sights on New Orleans, Louisiana, US. It was on the 28th of august, 2008, a day to the third anniversary of hurricane Katrina. The hurricane Katrina which struck this major city in 2005 caused a lot of damage and devastation. On its third anniversary, the city was painted by Banksy. The theme of his work was politics. He has fashioned a number of murals all around the city.
These murals show a mixture of scenes. Most of the pictures relate directly to the hurricane Katrina and its disastrous after effects. One of it showed former President Abraham Lincoln portraying him as a homeless man pushing a basket. Another picture showed an old man sitting on a rocking chair, with an American flag below the words “No Loitering”. Another image showed a little boy writing “I will not copy things I see on the Simpsons” on the board as imposition. In another one, a little girl was holding an umbrella and putting out her hand as if to feel the rains.
Another was that of a marching band wearing gas masks. Yet another picture showed a little boy like he was flying a kite except that the thread was attached to a refrigerator. In one way it looked like he was pulling at a refrigerator in air and in another way, like he was flying it. There was also this picture of a boy on a swing made of a life preserver.
Some people say that his work in New Orleans was a reply to Fred Radtke, the infamous anti graffiti crusader. He was a government clean up guy. Also called the ‘grey ghost’ he is known to indiscriminately cover up any graffiti in New Orleans wit hideous grey paint, regardless of the color of the underlying wall!
Some others say that the Banksy art is paying homage to their city and to share their grief and love for struggle. They say that he had highlighted their frustration with the political leaders at the slow pace of recovery. People also feel that he seemed very well informed about the local conditions in New Orleans. This shows that he might have been spending time with some of the local artists and bloggers of the city. Though the reaction of the people is mixed as always most of them feel that what he did was to bring out corruption to light.

In today’s society we are seeing more and more people choosing to get a tattoo done and it’s not hard to figure out why because they are now very much in fashion. However once you come to the conclusion that you do actually want a tattoo, you are then faced with the difficult decision of deciding what type of tattoo you actually want done.
So how do you actually make this decision?
Well I think the first thing you should do is to consider choosing a design that portrays an accurate presentation of your personality. What you don’t want is for people to make negative or misleading judgements about you based on your choice of tattoo.
Alternatively you could choose a tattoo that reflects your own personal beliefs and ideologies whether it’s related to spirituality or religion. Either of these will highlight these aspects of your character.
Finally you could select a tattoo that demonstrates how much your family and loved ones mean to you. So to give an example you could choose a heart tattoo design to demonstrate how much your partner means to you, and maybe some individual flower tattoos for each of your children if you have any.
Whichever tattoo you decide to go with it’s vitally important that you have given the tattoo a lot of thought because your final choice of tattoo will obviously be a permanent fixture on your body. There are several great websites such as Chopper Tattoo that give you a selection of thousands of different tattoo designs for you to choose from. Alternatively you can always make an appointment with your local tattoo parlour and check out their catalogue of designs.
